Alyssa Dry, the #2 Combo guard in the nation, made a commitment to play basketball at the University of Texas. The 5’9 sophomore was highly recruited throughout the nation before deciding on Coach Karen Aston’s Lady Longhorns.

With the earlier commitment of blue chip player, Lashann Higgs, along with Alyssa Dry will give the Texas Longhorns the #1 Recruiting Class in the Nation for the 2015 Class. Dry is the youngest commitment ever garnered by Coach Aston through her successful coaching career.

Alyssa was Newcomer of the Year as well as All-District and All-State Mention while helping lead Aledo to a 30-4 record as a freshman. Her AAU team, Texas Prep Elite, coached by Adrian Washington was the best young team in the nation showcasing the backcourt of Higgs and Dry. Washingtoncalled Dry, “the best long range shooter I have ever coached in 18 years”.

With her speed and court awareness playing alongside the outrageously talented Higgs for the next 7 years will be exciting to watch and rewarding for Longhorn fans. Coach Aston will make quite a splash with the commitment of Dry sending shockwaves that the University of Texas Lady Longhorns are returning to the days the program was synonymous with Championships.
